For the sixth year in a row, one of the most important competitions took place in the “Global Pinot Noir Masters 2019”, in which a complete panel of experts, comprised of Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, blind-tasted the maximum exponents of Pinot Noir in the world.
With regards to refreshing wines, Riesling has slowly begun to appeal to wine lovers. Even though it has little body, it has become a great companion for adventure among the region’s viticulturists.
“The competition took place in the city of Aigle, Switzerland from May 2 – 5, bringing together important wineries from over 46 countries worldwide. On this occasion, over 9,000 wines were tasted by a distinguished panel of 340 experts from the world of wine.”
For the sixteenth version of the DWWA, a comprehensive multinational jury comprised of 280 experts from the world of wine evaluated over 16,500 wines from 57 countries worldwide.
The new version of the “Global Rosé Masters” was held in London, UK on April 16th with a panel of experts comprised of the Masters of Wine: Patrick Schmitt, Jonathan Pedley and Patricia Stefanowicz, as well as specialists from the world of wine: Andrea Briccarello and Tobias Gorn. The experts took the opportunity to blind taste and evaluate over two hundred exponents from the finest wineries worldwide.
Leyda Single Vineyard Neblina Riesling 2015 from the Leyda Valley stood out on this occasion with 92 points, following tasting by three of the magazine’s experts: Anthony Rose, Patricio Tapia, and Daphne Teremetz. The wine was described with the following tasting note:
