Last year, Leyda’s Viviana Navarrete was awarded Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. This year, Leyda continues to impress the esteemed Master of Wine, clocking up six 90+ awards in diverse categories of his 2021 report. In his most recent visit to Chile, the renowned US critic, James Suckling, tasted a total of 1,200 wines produced throughout the country from the coast to the mountains. On this occasion, the co-editor and critic’s son, Jack Suckling, described how Chile is currently “placing on the world’s finest rankings with balanced, structured Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Syrah and Pinot Noir which are subtle but full of flavor”.
