CHARDONNAY, Falaris Hill Vineyard

Falaris Hill vineyard is a small block located in a south-east orientated slope in Leyda Estate, with a particular low fertility in the soil. It is managed in order to keep low yields, between 6 and 7 tons per hectare, and therefore to obtain top quality wines.

The grapes are hand harvested during the mornings of April. One third of the must fermented in New French oak barrels. The rest went into used barrels in order to keep the expression of the wine.

The character of this wine is given by the mineral and citric notes of our estate and a gentle winemaking that tries to respect the natural expression of the grapes, enhanced with the aging, the integration of oak and the slow evolution of the wine on its lees.

Falaris Hill Vineyard Chardonnay has a refined and complex nose with ripe citrus character and mineral notes. Subtle oak influence combines with lemon and dry wheat aromas. Fresh and dense in the mouth, with a creamy texture in the mid palate and a lively acidity further back, providing freshness and length to a toasted almonds aftertaste.
