Pinot Noir - Rosé Loica Vineyard comes from a selected block, on a south
west facing slope. This vineyard was planted in 1998, in a southwest
orientated slope in Leyda Estate. Because of this exposure, sunlight is
slightly less in this block and the influence of ocean breezes is higher.
Then, the ripening process occurs at a slower pace contributing to the
development of different and special flavours and aromas. The production in
this block was 4 tons per hectare.
The style of these wine combines fresh and fruity aromas without waiting for
tannin and fenolic ripeness. Early harvest takes place in order to achieve
the freshness of flavors. The grapes were hand harvested and after
de-stemming, they were not crushed in order to keep whole grapes during
maceration. Fermentation occurred at 13 to 18°C for 12 days in stainless
steel tanks. After dryness, the wine was racked into 2nd use French oak
barrels and aged there for 4 months.
Bright and shinny colour. Clean and fruity nose with a strong red fruit
character of raspberries and red cherries, combined with citrus notes.
Delicate and fresh palate, with great concentration of flavours and a sharp
acidity that keeps the freshness all through the palate.
