DECANTER-REGIONAL-TROPHY

Viña Leyda awarded two Regional Trophies at the 2012 Decanter Wine World Awards

July 2012

Viña Leyda enjoyed great success at the 9th edition of the annual Decanter Wine World Awards, held in April in London and featuring some 14,000 samples from 47 wine-producing countries.

Two of our wines were awarded the notable distinction of a Regional Trophy, a medal given to the best wines according to their region of origin. On this occasion it was our 2010 Reserva Syrah and our 2011 Single Vineyard Garuma Sauvignon Blanc, both from the Leyda Valley, that took the plaudits in the under £10 category.

Without doubt, these prizes are testament to the great work being done by Viña Leyda to produce expressive, complex wines with unique character that represent the individuality of the Leyda Valley, located just 12Km from the Pacific Ocean.

The Decanter World Wine Awards are considered to be one of the most comprehensive and reliable sources of recommendations for wine lovers around the world.

Their success stems from the unique method used to evaluate the wines, as they are subjected to a blind tasting based on region of origin and price range in order to capture the local expression of each wine and allow for an objective comparison with other similar wines.
