Along the coast there is a strong influence from the Pacific Ocean, which is particularly cold because of the Humboldt Current.
The frost free growing season in the valley stands out for its cool weather conditions, with maximum temperatures between 24-25 º C and a daily temperature variation of 12-13ºC during summer. Ocean mist clears up early in the morning allowing ample sunny days with high luminosity and a relative humidity of 60% .
As a consequence of these climatic characteristics the ripening period occurs at a slow pace, which leads to the correct development of pure fruity aromas, flavours, minerality and a perfect balance of sugar level and acidity in the grapes.
